Weir Farm National Historic Site, the only National Park Service site dedicated to American painting, was home to three generations of American artists including Julian Alden Weir, a leading figure in American art and the development of American Impressionism.

Take time out of your busy schedule for some much deserved R&R, escape to a rural retreat only ten minutes from Downtown Ridgefield, and experience what Julian Alden Weir described as "that wonderful something that the landscape in nature suggests, somewhat like the soul of a human being." Enjoy a picnic en plein air, take in some bird watching on a hike to Weir Pond, or join a park ranger for a guided tour. Whether you spend an hour or a day, you are sure to leave inspired and invigorated!
